GOOD NEIGHBOR FOOD PANTRY
Sponsored by the Woodstock Council of Churches
The Good Neighbor Food Pantry, serving an average of 300 persons each month, is located on the ground floor of the Reformed Church of Woodstock. The pantry is open each Thursday morning from 9 to 11 am. Member congregations of the Woodstock Council of Churches rotate responsibility for stocking and staffing the Pantry on a monthly basis.
In addition to cash gifts and food supplies donated by members of area congregations, the Pantry receives approximately 3 grants each year from New York State -- a total of close to 2 tons of food annually. Special food drives in behalf of the Good Neighbor Food Pantry are conducted by the Postal Employees in May and the Boy Scouts in November. Generous donations have also been made by the Rotary and by the Lion's Club.
